This plant is soft and fuzzy. It is annual and reminiscent of a tumbleweed (Salsola tragus), but it always stays soft. It is the author’s second-favorite invasive plant. Host for the Wooly Bear caterpillar, Diacrisia virginica and the Cabbage Looper Moth, Trichoplusia ni. Chickens like to eat it, and it is rumored that it makes their eggs yummier.
